The Beauty of the Far North

Family, that is what life and love is all about. Family is not always blood related or even marriage. Family can mean absolutely anything these days, as long as love, loyalty, commitment and respect is involved.

So my family went to visit my other family in New Zealand’s Far North and I felt a sense of belonging and freedom when I sat back and marvelled at all the different kinds of personalities, looks, ideals and cultures coming together as one family.

Nothing like catching your fist fish with your uncle and grandfather watching.

Fishing is such a big part of staying up North. Especially if your host is a local fisherman.

Some uncles are for fishing and some uncles are for wrestling.

The wonderful thing Up North, near Whangarei is that you are so close and involved with nature and no-one missed an xbox, tv or mobile phone.

Apparently this little dog just hangs around the boats and makes friends with just about anybody who is willing.
